Have you ever wondered what all those levers do? Swanage Railway are offering a rare opportunity to glimpse behind the scenes inside a real working Victorian signalbox.
Our signalbox at Corfe is full of heritage equipment, many of which has links to the branchline - a real life working museum, still signalling and ensuring the safety of trains decades after being made redundant from British Railways.
Your experienced tour guide will outline what all the equipment does, from moving and securing the points, operating signals, through to communicating with the mainline at Basingstoke for our Wareham connection.
There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and take pictures, in between watching the signalbox signalling the trains between Swanage and Norden.
Tour is 20 minutes.
Under 18s must be accompanied.
