Have you ever wondered what all those coloured levers do? Swanage Railway are offering a rare opportunity to glimpse behind the scenes inside a real working Victorian signalbox.
Our signalbox at Harmans Cross recounts the charm of a smaller branchline signalbox at a wayside station - a real life working museum, still signalling and ensuring the safety of trains decades after being made redundant from British Railways.
Your experienced tour guide will outline what all the equipment does, from moving and securing the points, operating signals, through to passing two trains on a singletrack branchline.
There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and take pictures, in between watching trains running between Swanage and Norden.
Tour is 20 Minutes.
Under 18s must be accompanied.
